Must see! The ladies who give the tours are amazing. You can almost see the dishes flying when you hear about Helen's tantrum in the dining room.

I had the chance to visit years ago before Google maps was this big. I recall she was a subject of study when I was in 3rd grade. The experience of being there was unique in the sense that one can imagine how she was able to trascend into history given her limitations. A great place to bring the new generations of history makers, children.

Before the play and before exploring the buildings that made up Helen Keller's home, I barely knew anything about her. During, and after the play, I realized how important the people of the Keller family were in starting in a new chapter of Helen Keller's life, especially after coming out of her shell.

This place is a really nice little piece of inspirational history in north Alabama. We were in the area visiting family when I found this little gem. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We were there in the month of June and that is the month they have the outdoor play about the life of Helen, the month of her birth. The grounds are clean and there are plenty of places to sit for those who have a hard time standing and walking . the tour is also a good history lesson walking the grounds and seeing the well where she said her first words. We look for history every where we go and this was a nice stop for us.

A must see... What a superb and inspirational story. Take the tour. The staff is very kind, polite and helpful. Laura waz a superb tour guide.

My family and I came here for the final play of the season known as "The Miracle Worker". It's about the little girl was born both blind and deaf meeting a young woman who became her teacher, and truest friend.

However, the teacher who succeed in bringing Helen "to life", Anne Sullivan, is just as much an inspiration. The play touched upon Anne's past with flashbacks of her painful early years living with her brother and afterwards when completing her schooling.

It is a place to visit when the play is being done. There, you'll catch a glimpse what started the life of Helen Keller's.
